Knowledge can be classified according to various considerations. On the one hand, for example, we can divide it into sensory, experimental, expert and mental knowledge, and of course these sources affect the form and strength of knowledge that a person has.

But the classification that concerns us now is another classification: knowledge in terms of quantity and field.
I think that it is possible to summarize the three types of knowledge from this division: general knowledge, specialized knowledge, and encyclopedic knowledge. Assuming that the types are numerous, we will agree in the end on one fact, which is the impossibility of a person on this earth who did not go through one of these three types but perhaps the first two types.

The idea is what kind of knowledge our age needs.
There is no doubt that our modern era has surpassed its predecessor in terms of speed and cognitive and technical inflation, as modern inventions, on top of which are social media - and the Internet as a whole - have loosened many of the temporal brakes that were previously.

The nature of this age should never be overlooked. Rather, it is imperative for us as human beings to know its requirements in order to be able to adapt to it. Which knowledge would we choose?

Specialized knowledge is undoubtedly in my opinion the best solution, as it at least guarantees you a field of science that is not dispersed and also a job in most cases, and I think that the encyclopedia will not return to its traditional form, perhaps only a combination of two converging or complementary fields.

The whole problem is at the point of general culture: Are we forced to learn things outside the scope of our lives? Or is it a must?
