January 2019 - come take a tour of my indoor garden...

##### Updates
![overview of sunroom indoor garden jan 2019.JPG](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmdBCqz2M1Kw8ZgZcnZ5UjjHWh7BU1Fx5TfUT1uo8tN5T2/overview%20of%20sunroom%20indoor%20garden%20jan%202019.JPG)

The greens are producing well even with set backs like the cat trying to make a bed out of my pot of Malabar spinach!

**Tips:** Use tinfoil (I rolled it up into balls) or masking tape, sticky side up (or anything sticky) in pots to deter cats from laying in them. Outdoors I use rose bushes or raspberry canes that have thorns to deter the cats from laying in the garden beds or using it for a litter box.

Lettuce, arugula and basil have been potted up into their permanent pots ready for harvesting.
Basil is ready for it's first picking. Yay! Pesto time!

The kale, celery, Malabar spinach and chickweed that I dug out from the garden in the fall are still producing, making a lovely addition to our salads and other dishes.

The Malabar spinach is starting to produce seeds which I will collect and start another crop of it.

We're taking advantage of our long nights here to put the cannabis into flowering so they are now on 12 hours of light and 12 hours of dark.

![cuttings from mother plants.JPG](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmd5T7Wmbp7qbYRHKKBn277N9z8NcVsGKrATyxJ9sCgKdj/cuttings%20from%20mother%20plants.JPG)

The cuttings we took from these plants, prior to flowering them, are doing very well, so we should have some big healthy plants for growing in the covered garden outside.

![Pointsetta in sunroom.JPG](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmPZU9yMZ3E1xmK1j7VQtn9RJua37GnZFXMoQbbGDmcLeC/Pointsetta%20in%20sunroom.JPG)

The poinsettia is adding a Christmassy feel and although the two little Amaryllis plants I got from a plant exchange haven't done anything, my new bulb is soon to have a double bloom. They are so beautiful!

Grand finally in the video tour (click the image at the top of the page) - a guest appearance from JJ my cat!
