I would like to think so, but I don't.  My thoughts are that BTC is becoming slowly more stable.  It's volatility is dropping and the huge swings and pumps are gone.  I  feel that the speculative "gambling" element to BTC has been burnt by the last run up and that won't happen again.  

Long term I am very bullish about BTC and some altcoins, but I'd be surprised if we get past $12,000 again this year. I'll predict $8,000 to 9,000 year end and a much happier 2019 than 2018.

I have very little technical analysis knowledge or experience,  just my personal take on the state of the market. 

Of course this is crypto and anything could happen...

Hi friend, to be honest, I don't think I'll reach that rate by the end of this year, because in the last few months it's had very steep falls. I hope that the 15,000 $ will arrive starting in December and will be maintained until the end of the year, if so I think we will all have a merry Christmas.

I really doubt it would reach that height again. Compared to the time when it breached the 17K mark earlier, people are now a bit more skeptical about cryptos and market volatility has also increased.
So, for this year, my prediction is that it won't reach that mark again.

Dear my friend @prince121, thank you to make your post, so i like to comment it. I think the BTC real value should be 10.000usd and if it will go over again, that means it will be overpumped again. We need that crypto market become stable, so the only way for that is BTC stable, but not at worth of 6.000 usd like it is now, but at 10.000 which should be as crypto gold coin and everything will start again like cloud mining services and so on. Do you know that even Eobot suspended its service?

Living in Palestine and as an Arabic native speaker and news follower, I noticed that when BTC reached about the $20k, there was a huge demand in the Arab golf area including: UAE, KSA, Bahrain, Qatar. 
Those rich people in the golf area usually put their money in real estate and forex markets. When they first hear about BTC going over $10k they started to buy regardless of its price!
A huge demand resulted in this pushing the price to the limits.
When all people had already bought their needs, the demand was lowered and price started to fall to the normal price.
Now UAE in general is going through the smart contract era and is investing in Ethereum, they also have their own blockchain backed by gold "Onegram" you can check it onegram.org 
Fundamentally, I think BTC will rise as the  demand on exchange from ETH and other smart contract coins increases. But I don't expect it to boom as it happened the last time.

BTC can and will hit over that valuation as it continues to consolidate cryptocurrency funds from all these failed ICO's. Once we find projects worthwhile we will see BTC will begin to grow as it is the gateway to getting into decentralised projects.

Its not a question of if it will hit an ATH but when will it hit the ATH again. Within this year, I dont think so but 2 to 3 years yes

I do not think so. In my opinion, the BTC price this year won´t rise more than 10 000 $, and during 2019 the price won´t rise more than 30% except maybe for short peaks.

The cause of the high price of Bircoin during 2017 was the ICO bubble and that won´t happen again.

For Steem I expect an important price rise when Smart Media Token gets launched.

I think it would. For me I think 2018 is a test of faith. You never know what happens next.......

First i saw 17,000 which is literally impossible but if it 17.000 it is possible

I feel we are near the bottom and in consolidation, while there may be another short term dump with gox coins/investor from bitcoin purchase the market is pretty much taken as much as it can take and is due for a rally. No not 2018 rally at this time it would be Q1 2019 that we see this rise again.

I don't think that it can this year. The market has been too volatile this year and too many people have been burned by it. I can see a slower and steadier gain towards the end of the year and maybe break the 10k mark but i don't see anything like what we had this year. In my opinion it wouldn't even be a good thing if it did. What we need for the market as a whole is for it to have a steadier more stable period so that people can see its a lot more than a pump and dump. We all want to earn money but it might be better to have a long term view on it and let the better coins get there naturally.
