Well, judging by this - clearly a dick and enjoys his whale power. Some blockchains create monsters, prime example here. What can we do though ?

I think it is a shame to mis-use power like this and 'steal or kill' rewards like this. Although I like the liberty of this platform, these kind of things are a real pain in the !@# , with the wrong intensions you can break or make some-one....  In Holland we say 'To puge'  ..... I will help you were I can Steve !!

The witnesses have to push changes in the code. This is a structural problem. It would only take 3 or 4 accounts behaving like this to destroy the platform. An easy way for a competing project to bring this one down. Who wants to be on a platform with bullies? And vote-buying bots rather than people.

@holoz0r copped similar earlier. 
Now he has the highest rep, nobody can bring it down, @themarkymark has been posting about it.
Where do we go from here? Do we need to upvote a champion to lvl 80, so he can chop haejin back down to size?

Hi @steevc. I appreciate this post very much and yes it is difficult to see this type of behavior. I believe that over time people like him will be outed but we have to bide our time and be careful how we approach it in the meantime. The platform no matter how it is configured will have to allow for some bad behavior. He is exploiting the workings at the moment but this will change over time perhaps. Another thing to consider is that Steemit also encourages those interested in getting a return other their investment to be on the platform. When I see people like Haejin this is what comes to mind. The platform is built for him as well as those looking to progress with good comment. I might be wrong but changing things too much might discourage those who come here to invest.   Stay strong.

Yes, haejin is an @$$. But, you do have to hand it to him: he is very successfully robbing the rewards pool. He would insist that he's being rewarded for creating good, consistent content & developing an audience - and, he could make that point. Except for one thing: he upvotes himself with 94.1% of his voting power. That's just plain greedy, compared to how the vast majority of Steemians give a significantly higher percentage of upvotes to other people who are creating good content.

As far as him dogging your payouts this week: if you mess with the bull, you get the horns. I've tangled very softly with haejin myself, and taken a couple of downvotes from him. But, I am careful to make an honest attempt at commenting on his posts & the overall disagreement that many people have with his behavior on this platform.

Unfortunately, haejin does not uphold the Steemian spirit that this platform was created with. I believe it's intended to be equally balanced between making a profit and helping others to do the same. Win - Win, right? Well, haejin has created a Win - Lose situation. He's an @$$, but there are still a good number of people following him. They're probably newer users who don't know any better.

This really is the ugly side of Steemit. if people like *him* keep doing this then in time something else will come along that overcomes this problem (another Steemit) and we all lose.

Either something is going to happen, or else the platform will die due to greed. I for one would hate this to happen.

I know you will read this @haejin, look at the bigger picture, do you want all this to end? Am I going to be the next one to be flagged because Im simply showing you the future and what may happen?

When I discussed my flag, I compared it to having my lunch taken. I had penned a longer response to your post; inclusive of some theories, but I clicked back and my browser didnt save it.

With all the brilliant minds here on Steemit, it is difficult to imagine nothing can be done.  Alas for your pain; 100% upvote... a small contribution.
