Before coming to Mexico, one of the things we ourselves were the most curious about was what do things cost in Mexico? Are groceries in Mexico affordable? What should we expect to pay?

Still in Mexico or still in Guadalajara? Some people told us we only needed to stay in this city for a few days, but we're not sure how that's possible. It's HUGE! There's still so much exploring left. If you're referring to Mexico...well, we have even more adventures left in the country. It's even bigger!

We're still pinching pennies over here, but we try to enjoy each and every moment along the way—especially the memories that cost nothing. Walks in the neighborhoods and conversations with locals can be some of the best experiences of all.

Costco is perhaps a bad comparison. There are other more affordable stores you can find besides Costco. It's a great option in the US, but not such a good on in Mexico based on this experience.

in all countries you save by buying in bulk, but you need 2 things. 
1. Good planning ahead so that they are not wasted 
2. Money

Absolutely not! We were shocked to see such high prices after shopping in other stores around Mexico. Although Guadalajara was slightly more epxnesive than other cities, we think Costco isn't a good comparison.

I don't believe Costco has an outlet in Honduras, but I live in La Ceiba maybe San Pedro Sula and Tegucigalpa the two largest cities have one. WE do have a Walmart here though.

Seriously, i think these prices are considerable reasonable. They are within the range of 2,000 to 3,000 naira (our local currency here), but i am sure, by the time they get here, it might be higher, due to rate of import duties and all. Those prices are quite fair from my side here.

You mentioned cheaper prices by shopping outside of Costco, how much cheaper would you say? To be paying for a membership and then a premium seems kind of crazy, but this really could be one of those "status" type things.

Really hard for me to judge the prices as I don't shop at any warehouse style places and the size of everything was huge compared to what I get at a store. But prices didn't seem low by any means.

Been really wanting to start traveling with the family and Mexico is on the list. Currently working on a plan to move more of my business towards allowing for this. Costs of things in other parts of the world is a factor that I really need to pay attention to when figuring out how much reserves I'll need.

Anyways great post and you guys have good energy and come across great on your video.

If you can find a job, the average minimum wage in Mexico for a full-time worker is between 400-500 USD. You can pay for rent, food, and essentials with this amount of money. The locals know where to buy basic foods inexpensively.  The big franchises are luxury - mainly for families that have multiple incomes or have good jobs (earning twice the minimum or more).  @fcpway
