I find it to be brilliant, and it's one thing of many that shows the genius behind EOS, Dan Larimer, and his team. This logo can be viewed as The Chestahedron. The Chestahedron is a 7 sided geometric figure which is similar to so-called Platonic Solids, in that all of the faces have the same amount of surface area. The difference being that the Chestahedron has 2 types of faces, Triangles and Kites, whereas the platonic solids only have one type of face. In the video below, you will see and hear from Frank Chester regarding this 7 sided figure. Frank is an artist, sculptor, and geometrician, based in San Francisco. He has taught for more than 30 years in high schools and colleges. Since encountering the work of Rudolf Steiner, Frank has been exploring the relation between form and spirit. Fascinating indeed! Some 20 years ago I bought my first Mathematica package to try to implement a geometrical dream of mine, inspired by the platonic solids. I was fascinated by the hybrid shapes from a sphere and a tetrahedron, for example, all of them fitting in a cube. I´ll look for it. I´ll post some pictures if I find them. The idea was the mathematical division of space with different shapes, any numbre of them. I made it in 2D, but I failed miserably in 3D. Now I know more maths, so I should look into it again. Thanks for the inspiration.
