One has to consider the affect that Hollywood and other influential bodies have on the masses in relation to human conditioning. I strongly believe that--for the most part--human behaviour is learned, not created. 

It's hard for me to foresee a man growing up in the forest, without any corrupting influences, and ending up a paedophile or abuser of some kind. Most think that we need to be taught how to be a good person, but I have always believed that we need to be taught how to be a bad person.

Compassion is instinctive in humans. We know what is right and what is wrong through our own experiences of how we want to be treated. I feel it is merely the plethora of corrupting stimuli that we are subjected to on a daily basis that results in us being desensitized, chipping away at our compassion and convincing us that humans are inherently bad and so it is okay for us to be too.

If it is these forces that are leading the world of men into dark and disturbing places, then we ought to consider whether that is actually the intent, or a bi-product of a less sinister, but equally harmful agenda.

I know it does not mean much, but I'm sorry for what happened to you. You should be proud that you were able to make it out the other side of what sounds like a very dark time in your life. Not everyone has that strength of character.
