**Hi there my Steemit friend and followers!**

I am going to miss out on the photo contests today as there is something I would like to hear your opinions on. As you might know, pretty much all Europe has been struggling with an extreme heatwave these days, including my homeland, the Czech Republic.

While the temperatures we have been having here for the past few days (up to 38 °C or 100 °F) are not considered extreme in many parts of the world (including some Southern European countries too), it definitely is very unusual for us in Central Europe. 

I would not say I have a good memory in general but I can clearly remember that our climate and our weather patterns were significantly different when I was a kid in the 90s. There used to be a lot of snow in winter, allowing us to enjoy all the snow-related fun for months. There used to be a beautiful, very distinctive spring that would turn our landscapes green and blooming. There used to be nice warm summers with regular, short (but refreshing) showers. And there used to be a fall with its typical sleets, foggy days and melancholic atmosphere that many people enjoy as much as others enjoy spring or summer.

But now it all seems to be gone. The spring and the fall are sometimes left out completely. Winters are generally milder, snow-less but with occasional extreme freezing. Summers are getting unbearably hot and dry. Rivers and lakes are drying out but at the same time, we often suffer from torrential rains and floods. 

It really is incredible how much of a drastic change can happen within just a few decades, how much damage we have had to cause to the planet to witness all these things. I have read many articles and studies on global warming, climate change etc. but this is not what I want to talk about here. I just expressed my own authentic experience with how things have changed in my country and I would really like to know how (or whether at all) these things have changed in your countries, my fellow Steemians. I know there are people from many different parts of the world among my Steemit friends and followers and I am really interested in your observations.
