Still On The Fence About Going To Steemfest? // My Thoughts

Hi Friends!

I am stoked because I finally just bought my flights *today!* I am going to be getting into Krakow Saturday night - and so i'm there quite early and would love to meetup with people. Not that i'm opposed to wandering around Krakow by myself eating pirogies - but i'd way rather catch a beer with some of you! 

Ok back to the purpose of this post. I've chatted with a few people who are still on the fence about attending Steemfest and the thought process has been pretty similar with all of them. They maybe haven't quite gotten the traction they want on Steemit yet and wonder if maybe they should just go next year. 

I 100% get that. Attending Steemfest is not cheap. I was lucky enough to win the @openmic and @blocktrades Ticket + Accommodation giveaway - which was a HUGE help, but my plane tickets were still almost $1300. So I get it, it's hard to decide if it's going to be worth your time.

I guess that brings me to my next point. In the wise words of @anomadsoul and @eveuncovered - are you going  for business or pleasure? That topic was my favorite from all of the #roadtosteemfest free-write challenges. I honestly think that if you aren't really where you want to be on Steemit - attending events and meeting Steemians in person is one of the coolest things you can do. You never know who you are going to meet and what collaborations and proejcts will be sparked form those encounters.

I've spoken at both Steem Creators Conferences - and can attest to the fact that there is a certain magic that happens when you meetup in person. Steemit does an awesome job of bringing people together - but nothing beats being together in person. 

Ultimately though - going in with the notion that you are there to have a good time is such a good way to go in. I mean, your going to be in a cool city, surrounded by hundreds of amazing people - what's the worst that can happen?

Again, I totally understand that it's not financially feasible for many to make it to Steemfest, but if you are on the fence - I think it will be totally worth it.

haha yes super windy. I usually don't film outdoors for those kind of reasons - but it was just too nice today! 

Excited to meet you in Poland! I'll have to figure out my phone number situation so I can pass it out to people. I think i'm going to get an international simm. I should be able to find wifi in spots too - so sending me messages in discord should work. I'm under Coruscate#6642.

Yeah, that would be awesome! I live in Bellingham, WA so Vancouver would be awesome. I know they usually look at the cost of hotels/food as a main deciding factor for Steem fest locations though - so there probably aren't too many spots in Canada that would qualify. haha 

I just hope it's on this side of the world next year. Mexico could be pretty cool.

I just saw that you live in Victoria! I love the island and I love that city. Do you ever eat at Fishook? I feel like I went there at least 5x last time I was in Victoria. haha  I actually have family up in Comox. :)
