Haha, I wrote an article about this nonsense spamming yesterday. And the side effects of doing it. - It's crazy and I can't even imagine how whales must feel. - Even I, a little nobody gets an average of 5 PM's per day.. - It's disgusting.

It's happening more and more. Yesterday was the first time this happened to me on Discord aswell. I don't care much about Steemit.chat, easy to ignore, but I use Discord for other purposes aswell, so it's very annoying if that starts becoming a new way of spamming.

Can't agree more! Although I'm small I do get these requests, so can't imagine the exposure with a bigger account.

Fair enough, guessing they won't last if they keep doing that, they will just get blocked by everyone.

If they just put the amount of work they put in tracking you down in chat into a post and a few comments on steemit they would do much better.

This is their strategy to get as much rewards from whales as they can. A bad and short-tearm strategy...

True, Could it perhaps be of the fact that those countries aren't considered very whealthy and therefore people from those countries try to do anything to get exposure in order to earn some? Just a thought on the possible reason behind this behavior.

Yes I've noticed this a lot more as well @neoxian ...Not good for the platform at all...I've even seen that the "I'll follow you if you follow me" thing is getting out of control too! I guess it is just getting the newer people coming onto the platform to understand that getting your content out there, is a process...& it's hard work! Nothing comes easy in life...Everything worthwhile takes focus, dedication, and consistency...If you want to grab someones attention around here, make a meaningful comment about whatever subject or content is being displayed...Engage...Don't spam people on their blogs/chat...Hopefully the word will get around my friend...Take care-

As @politics-trail I encourage people to note me about interesting articles. There is a huge difference between asking to read or asking for "upvote and resteem". I even do not like it when people do it at the end of their blog, well unless it is @marketreport - who could be mad at that face :D

Saya setuju dengan anda.  Blokir adalah hal yang lebih pantas di terima oleh peminta upvote sejarah pribadi.  Di steemit semua kita akan mengedepankan Jujur.  Konten yang Bagus akan mendapatkan suara. Kita tidak menginginkan nepotisme atau hal semacamnya berlaku disini. Jika saja saya mampu memberikan medali maka medali 'akun jujur' akan saya hadiahkan kepada @neoxian,  tapi sayang saya belum punya posisi itu.

What annoys me too is people sending me 0.005 STEEM with a link to their post. My attention cannot be bought for 1 cent, and it took a lot of restraint for me to avoid flagging the linked post on principle.

Does that mean that I'm allowed to bug you since I'm your artist? :P

I finally was in the Steemit chat last night. Literally one minute after getting on (and not posting anywhere or being in any rooms yet) I was spammed with an 'upvote me' message. I posted my Freebie Friday in the post promotion chat room and was immediately buried under private messages of 'upvote me' and people wanting to trade upvotes.

I told them that I have no interest in trading upvotes and was just looking for Freebie Friday requests.

Anyways, the real reason for me dropping in on this post was to let you know that you can hit me up for art anytime. Doesn't have to be Fridays. You're my best customer and I have a feeling that you'll be able to keep me busy, lol.
