I must say that when I joined the platform, STEEM price was much attractive, but as time goes on, it goes down to what we have now. Though my activities where limited last year, I have come out positively this year and I will offer my best. I’ve accumulated little steem power through my previous posts, voting and engaging in interactions…..that could sound funny because it is very small…, but even with that I found this to be the best way to enjoy the platform. Since I consider here my little family, I feel it will only be interesting to share my goals and what I am up to for this year, most folks call it resolution. I want to start with the investment of steem power or accumulating steem power as you may put it. This play a major role in steem long term value. #### Wondering why I choose that? **Here are my reasons below:** * I want to be a curator with values: I know this will have a great impact in the eco system. I won’t say I am impressed by the steem power I have now because it may not even be visible. As an aspiring investor, I will like to involve most on power ups. To achieve this I have set a goal of be active with interesting activities here in the blog. Maybe hitting three dolphins before this year runs out is not bad. * I want to be a constant content creator: I want to focus on contents with values that will benefit both me and my audience. The Steem protocol is a social blockchain database that rewards users for sharing content. It powers social media apps such as the Steemit blogging site. Users become stakeholders in the platform, earning cryptocurrency for their contributions and maintaining control over their data. Steemit Inc was launched in 2016 by business operation and financial analyst Ned Scott and software engineer Dan Larimer to develop the Steem protocol, though Larimer left the company in 2017. Steemit was the first app to launch on the Steem blockchain. Steem coins are the native cryptocurrency tokens running on the blockchain. Where a month ago you could have swapped your Steem for Hive 2:1 they are now almost on par and getting ever closer. I am still not sure how to navigate this situation. In terms of longterm feasibility, actual use cases, community strength and convincing fundamentals Hive is much ahead of Steem. The better product doesn't always win, quite the contrary - in a world where lobbies exist, where the great monetary currents decide any- and everything and where offensive products and services come out a winner of the allegedly competitively-oriented marketplace of ideas it seems entirely up to the whims of the gang which of the two chains will be more financially viable in terms of investment. Seldom do scandals hurt a project in the longterm so much that years later they will actually be dead - unless of course the financial whales decide for it to be so. Conversely, even endless amounts of proven manipulation, fraud and deception cannot seem to override the still existing forms of these monumental blunders. Look at the mainstream media! Most if not all of the major news outlets that exist today have been caught deceiving, have lied to their readers and viewers and have been caught red handed in the biggest blunders thinkable in an alleged "democracy". And yet, these outlets still somehow exist, backed by immense financial firepower and clandestine interests, while countless actual journalists doing work on their own have been disappeared, censored and bankrupted due to their critical reporting and unbribe-able character. Maybe a good trade would not be to hope for Steem to reach an orchestrated grand high in terms of dollar value and still make the most out of the remaining stake we may have - but instead to try and time the price difference between Steem and Hive so that we may get the most value out of Steem carrying it over to Hive. Or maybe this is all nonsense and Hive will prevail simply because it is the better project created by real people who care about their home on the blockchain. You can tell things are different when we see an increased supply result in higher prices. For one: The Euro has climbed tremendously despite (or maybe *because of*) the enormous influx of newly printed money (more than 1 Trillion in the last few weeks). Weird, they always taught us that more supply leads to lower prices but here we see the opposite. You know where else we see the opposite? The price of Steem. <center></center> Despite all the warnings, voting shenanigans with the exchanges, the hostile takeover of the Steem blockchain and the ensuing tornado of bad press Steem's price is holding steady and even climbing. The difference to before is: Binance has opened the gateways again meaning people can withdraw their Steem but also deposit it to sell it. You would think the mass exodus to Hive would have shown in the charts, that there would have been a major dump of Steem the moment those gateways reopened and people could sell the first half of their powered-down stake. But "remarkably" price seems unaffected. It would be a major candidate for "the market has priced everything in already" and I am beginning to see the possibility that all major dumps have long occurred leading up to where we are now, rather than to see the price dump now when "everybody" wants to sell their stake. I am starting to wonder whether the majority are actually selling or whether there are more new people now who are buying Steem, unphased by all the recent trauma. There will come a time when all of this is forgotten. If you don't believe me ask Ethereum investors today whether they are familiar with the ETH and ETH classic fallout, and you will probably hear merely a minority be aware of the issues back then. My point is things blow over, even in the world of crypto. We have about 2 weeks left for the 4 week window since #hardfork23 to pass. If we don't see a major dump by then I am starting to think we are never gonna see it. Not if there are big marketing plans for Steem in the background and certain groups are accumulating now that we are just above 22 cents. Had hit the 9 cent mark twice, which would have been the perfect buy thus far. To see that all these bad developments around steem have not completely tanked its price yet should be a red flag. A red flag because Steem might just pump as much or more than other coins in the next bullrun that seems to be lingering just around the corner. Steem at $1 would mean a 5x'ing of your SP's value from here. I don't exactly see that as impossible even when all heart has left the blockchain and moved over to Hive. I saw and notices ib last few months that steem price fall badly. I am not cryptocurrency analyst so i do not know the reason why this happened. But i know one thing that it hurts steem users badly. They want to see increase in steem price but it is falling. There was a tine when steem price was more then 2$ and remain many moths stable. But now it is about 0.13$ and still steem user confused about stability of steem at this stage. Afraid if it will fall more. Hope soon steem price go high and we see steem on top 10 crypto currency.
